Happy Birthday Helen!

Photobucket

Today is my friend Helen's birthday! Unfortunately, it took her reminding me of it to remember it. Yes, I'm a horrible person. So to celebrate Helen's birthday, I'm having a little Google fun. A while back, I did an "Unfortunately, Wendy" post which was highly entertaining, so I've decided to do one for Helen. Yup, I'm Googling "Unfortunately, Helen" to see what I come up with. Now, without further ado...

Unfortunately, Helen refused to take no for an answer.

Unfortunately, Helen is the last of her kind.

Unfortunately, Helen was taken.

Unfortunately, Helen, as the fairest of her sex, was the prize destined for Paris.

Unfortunately, Helen liked to gamble and by all accounts she wasn't very good at it.

Unfortunately, Helen has no knowledge on how to fly a rocket.

Unfortunately, Helen was never comfortable with fame and all the attention that came with it.

Unfortunately, Helen can't control the weather.

Unfortunately, Helen didn't turn 18 soon enough to make it into the Star Trek tattoo roundup.

Unfortunately, Helen was Polish and knew nothing about cooking.

Unfortunately, Helen is not sure, not sure at all.

Unfortunately Helen did not study science and IT hence very often gets lost in cyber space.

And did you know that in the movie "The Incredibles" the main character's names are Helen and Bob? Yup, just like Helen and her husband Bob. Coincidence? I think not.

And now, for the fortunately part. Fortunately, Helen is someone I can call a friend. She's a lovely person with a wonderful, caring heart and I'm blessed to know her. Happy Birthday, dear Helen! And now if you'll excuse me, I think I'll go eat some cake in Helen's honor. Cake... Mmmm...

It's the most wonderful time of the year

Today is my daughter's first day of 2nd grade. Hooray! Uh, I mean, I'm so sad that school is starting. Truth be told, it's been lovely having her home. But she NEEDS to go back to school. If I have to hear "there's nothing to do" one more time, my head will explode. I can just picture it now... All the little 2nd graders drawing pictures of what they did over the summer and the caption under my daughter's picture would read "I made my mommy's head explode." Suitable for framing, that one. So to celebrate the return of the school year, I give you the following video:

You know what else makes this a wonderful time of year? Today is my friend Helen's birthday. How about going over to her blog and wishing her a Happy Birthday? And when you get there, mention that you're there for the costume party. She'll get a kick out of that one...

While I've got your attention, how about joining in the Life is Funny blog carnival? It's all alone over there and it clearly should not be left unsupervised.
