a formal complaint

Photobucket

I'd like to file a formal complaint. Target, I've loved you for years. You've always been there for me and had what I need. And I've been loyal to you - I wouldn't dream of stepping foot into Walmart. I visit you many times each week and tell all my friends of your goodness. But today you let me down. I came to you with a deep need... A need for Easter candy at clearance prices. How is it possible that you could have nothing for me? Not even one bag of yucky jellybeans? What am I to do with my yearning for creamy chocolate at bargain prices? How can I live without those Whopper Robin's Eggs? And don't even get me started on the Cadbury's... Oh! Cadbury's! I'll have to wait an entire year for your rich, creamy goodness! I don't know if I can make it... I've heard rumors that you let others down even before Easter. I heard that there were near riots on Saturday when there was no candy to be found in your Easter aisle. Target, how can you live with this shame? Oh sure, you can tell me that I can just hit the regular candy aisle and pay (gasp!) full price... But that just takes all the joy out of it now, doesn't it? And now I'll have to wait until Halloween for the next holiday candy to come out?! Oh, the humanity! Target, I have to tell you that this taints our relationship. Sure, I still love you, but there's a hole in my heart that can only be filled by a greatly discounted chocolate bunny.

What did I learn this week? If you've made a tradition of buying your best friend Cadbury Eggs to save them for her birthday in July, make sure you get them before Easter. Drats.

Now go on over to Musings of a Housewife to see what everyone else learned!

And don't forget to check out my blog carnival - Life is Funny - because we all need a good laugh once in a while, right?

Ug! Sounds like you buyers stink! I was in my local Target & they had a discounted Easter aisle...not a hug amount of good candy, but enough to send me to the next aisle to avoid it! (Trying to lose a few before bathing suit season - who am I kidding? Just needing to lose a few!).

Hate yours stinks. Maybe they should do rainchecks?
Tell me it isn't a sign of the economy when there is NO clearance candy?!

lol... no more early morning commenting! "Sounds like you buyers stink! I was in my local Target", I hope you know I meant that the STORE'S BUYERS stink, not you as a shopper.

Oh caffeine come kick me into gear. :)

How horrible! Although, I do have to admit that I filled my girls' Easter baskets with valentine's candy that I bought on clearance from Target. I think the bags were about $0.33 a piece. So sorry your Target let you down.

I'm shocked! No clearance candy? What a drag. That reminds me, I need to check out CVS. They had a ton of stuff on Saturday. They must have some left over. :-)

We just got a Target here in Anchorage about six months ago. It's on the other side of town and I'm too lazy to drive...waiting for the one to be built on southside.
HOWEVER...we got a Kohl's too...and that is awesome!

(PS: WalMart had plenty of Cadbury eggs. ;)

This totally warrants an official compliant. Need the number for the BBB?

I checked out the Easter clearance at Target yesterday too. It was lousy. Maybe the effects of the economy???

Wish you lived near by, I'm getting ready to return 3 bags of Easter candy. Unfortunately don't think it's any of your favorites. Do you think Target will take back my easter candy - I have my receipts.

Here in N Ireland you are almost guaranteed of being able to buy Cadbury cream eggs all year round - not that this information is of much help to you!

You mean you're supposed to live without Whopper eggs and Cadbuury eggs? It's an outright tragedy, I tell you!

I love Target too, and I agree about the need for clearance candy. And especially CADBURY EGGS!

After Christmas, I would always buy those HUGE Hershey kisses wrapped in red foil, then give them to the boys on Valentine's Day. (They were still good and fresh too.) Now I can't ever find them on sale. It's a conspiracy I tell you.

I waited to get my last-minute candy until Saturday night.

Do you know what Walmart did NOT have?

PEEPS!!!!!!!!

You wanna talk about tragedy...

Oh - I absolutely LOVE my Target, but had the same thing happen. I was running around on Saturday before Easter and stopped into pick up some candy. All they had was those round hard chocolate pellets in foil. AWFUL!

UGH - now I need a Reese's Peanut Butter egg!
